Novus Life Sciences
HKSTP Incu-Bio Programme
Dr Wilson Wong
I’m Dr Wilson Wong, a biotech entrepreneur. I’m the CEO and founder of Novus Life Sciences, established in 2014 as one of the few biotech startups in Hong Kong. Novus was named one of the top-50 finalists in Global Entrepreneurship Week, CNBC listed it among 20 of the world’s hottest startups the same year, and it was awarded the SME’s Youth Entrepreneur Award by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Small and Medium Business in 2015. We’re a medical research outfit established by three young graduates of the University of Hong Kong. Based in Hong Kong Science Park, Novus is a member company of Incu-Bio Programme of Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP). We focus on the research, development and commercialisation of orthobiologics, and are actively seeking opportunities in the wider life-sciences sector. Novus seeks to fill a market gap by providing highly injectable biomaterial needed for minimally invasive surgical procedures, leaving no trace, with minimal complexity in operation and patient downtime.
The Incu-Bio Programme offered by HKSTP is a comprehensive structure that nourishes biotech startups with all-round support, ranging from facilities and infrastructure to opportunities for linking up with industry, investors and clients. HKSTP has played a pivotal role in our growth.
Under the programme, we have successfully grown into a more mature biotech company. We’ve been provided with services, including experienced consultation, that have helped us make important business decisions. We treasure every opportunity given to us, which accelerates our growth.
I would recommend this programme to those who are interested in starting up, and to those who want to connect their businesses to every part of the world - this is the place where “east meets west”.
