Ablaze – The Startup Program to sparkle innovation in media and consumer segment

Ablaze is a newly launched program run by Ablaze Idea Lab in partnership with New Media Group which aims to nurture startups in the online media and consumer marketing segment. It would appeal to startups that are looking for ways to drive traffic and adoption and open to work with a partner to develop go-to-market strategy.

Ablaze partners with New Media Group which owns 80+ social media communities, websites and print media.  The team is instrumental in creating many hot topics among consumers especially in travel (the well-known weekend weekly), wine and dine, fashion and lifestyle, and women segment.

Having a media partner is an advantage and uniqueness of the program. This will enable startups to test the ideas quick, build traffic and adoption easier. The program plans to invest with HKD500,000+ in marketing and media exposure for each new startup. And will assist to line up appropriate partnerships and connections to enable idea commercialization. Co-working spaces will be provided when needed, and startups will be able to access New Media’s resources and facilities for editorial support and content creation.

Ablaze is looking for startups that have a good fit either with industry relevancy (relate to Travel, Eat and Dine, Teens, Fashion/lifestyle, Beauty/Women, Parenting) or discipline relevancy (digital adverting and media, Content marketing / distribution, Consumer products / services, Marketplaces / E-commerce, Audience analysis and measurement)

The Applications is accepted throughout the year, and the next review application deadline is on 30 June 2017. It’s a 6-month program to start with, and if the concept of the startup performs well during the period, the program will also arrange further support afterwards.
