AI Insights & Governance: Preparing for the Autonomous Future

18/08/2026 6:00pm - 7:45pm

Hosted by AustCham’s Innovation & Technology and Sustainability committees, this upcoming AI governance event will bring together leading voices to explore the practical and strategic questions shaping responsible AI adoption. The discussion will cover everything from identifying and governing AI use cases, to managing third-party risk, accountability, privacy, and the challenges of deploying increasingly autonomous systems.

Panellists will also examine the human side of AI governance — including leadership, culture, workforce readiness, and the skills organisations need to build in the agentic age. As AI capabilities evolve rapidly, this timely session will offer valuable insights into what businesses should be thinking about now, and what is likely to matter most over the next 12 to 24 months.

This is an important opportunity for members to hear directly from experts on the issues affecting AI strategy, governance, and implementation in practice. We look forward to welcoming attendees for a timely and thought-provoking discussion.

The session will be moderated by the Co-Chair of the Innovation & Technology Committee Hoi Tak Leung and Co-Chair of the Sustainability Committee Jenny Fan, and feature the following speakers:

Carl Fernando, Managing Director of CANDA Consulting
William Gee, Founder of Illuminare and Council Member of ICAEW
Christine Joo, Head of Legal (Business and Operations) at Mox Bank

Attendance at this event will also make you eligible for 1 CPD hour. Thank you to Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand for supporting this event.
