🤖 AI for Inclusion: Building Tools That Enable
AI Tinkerers Hong Kong & GBA is proud to co-host an evening with Dialogue in the Dark (DiDF) – Hong Kong’s pioneering experiential exhibition where visitors navigate total darkness guided by blind or visually impaired hosts.
This month, we’re exploring how we can build AI tools that let people do things they previously couldn’t. If you are building AI-powered tools that extend human capability for people with disabilities – this is the room for you.
From Dialogue In The Dark
AI is truly a revolutionary empowering tool for people with disabilities. With the little AI that has been deployed, we have already begun to witness AI enabling the blind to see, the deaf to hear, the immobile to move, the isolated to connect, the unemployed/under-employed to shine, the excluded to be included, and more… However, much of this enabling power is not getting into the hands of people with disabilities. Shall we get together to explore why and what we can do about it hands-on?
This event will be hosted by Marcus Leiwe and William Gazeley.
🛠️ Call for Demos: Show Your Work

Demo topic ideas:
– AI tools that help people experience the world from a different sensory perspective
– Computer vision and scene understanding for visual impairment
– Speech-to-text and text-to-speech pipelines that actually work in the wild
– LLM-based assistive communication tools
– Navigation and mobility aids powered by AI
– Everyday task support that works with difference, not against it
– Community co-creation platforms that bring together people with disabilities and builders
Demo criteria:
– Must involve real technical work (code, models, systems)
– No pitch decks or sales discussions
