CityUHK HK Tech 300 and Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO)
In 2021, City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) launched HK Tech 300, a large-scale flagship innovation and entrepreneurship programme, aiming to empower young people on their entrepreneurial journeys. The programme provides extensive support for incubating deep-tech start-ups while transforming the University’s world-class research and intellectual property into practical solutions.
CityUHK has instituted the “HK Tech 300 Angel Fund” under the HK Tech 300 Programme. Qualified start-ups will be provided an investment of up to HK$ 1M and co-working space to start/further enhance their businesses and facilitate the transfer of CityUHK’s research outputs to impactful applications that will benefit society. Qualified start-ups could also enjoy business meet-up arrangements with major chambers and other supporting organisations, as well as other forms of support including consultation, mentoring, professional advice, etc.
HK Tech 300 National Start-up Competition
“HK Tech 300 National Start-up Competition” was first launched in 2022 to synergise the strengths and resources of Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland, enhance cross-border innovation and technology collaboration, promote the application of CityUHK research achievements in the Chinese Mainland, and foster closer ties in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. The shortlisted “National Top 10” winners will each be awarded up to HK$1 million in Angel Fund investment from HK Tech 300.
HK Tech 300 International Start-up Competition
“HK Tech 300 International Start-up Competition” is a global initiative that partners with universities, chambers, and incubators worldwide. It aims to support overseas start-ups in expanding to Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland, while helping local start-ups access international resources and explore overseas markets. The shortlisted “Global Top 10” winners will each be awarded up to HK$1 million in Angel Fund investment.
Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO)
The mission of KTO is to play a pivotal role in the protection, exchange, and commercialization of knowledge created at CityUHK for the economic and social well being of the community. KTO aspires to become the gateway for easy access to the intellectual resources nurtured by the University.
