Guangzhou–Hong Kong Technology and Industry Integration Innovation Center

The Guangzhou–Hong Kong Technology and Industry Integration Innovation Center is the nodes of the dual-centre platform (Hong Kong Centre and Guangzhou Centre). The platform aims to advance the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, strengthen Guangzhou–Hong Kong technology and industry innovation collaboration and technology commercialisation, combining Yuexiu Group’s industry resources, industrial park development and investment capabilities with the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s strengths in research innovation, talent development and entrepreneurship. The Hong Kong Centre is operated by the HKUST Fok Ying Tung Research Institute (FYTRI), Guangzhou’s first Hong Kong–background research institute and a Guangdong provincial new R&D institution.

The Hong Kong Centre is located on Level 1 of Building 16E at Hong Kong Science Park, Pak Shek Kok, New Territories, providing approximately 990 m² of dedicated functional space in partnership with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP). The venue is used to introduce, incubate and serve innovation teams and technology companies, offering coworking space, meeting and event facilities, and physical showcase areas for ecosystem engagement and roadshows.

FYTRI provides professional operations and incubation services including R&D support, policy advisory, business services, investment and financing matchmaking, industry partnering, and laboratory access pathways. The Centre connects Hong Kong, Macao and international sci-tech projects with Guangzhou and Nansha industrialisation resources through FYTRI’s research and commercialisation network, the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao (International) Youth Innovation Hub, and Yuexiu iPARK facilities—supporting cross-border soft landing, scenario proof-of-concept and scale-up.

Through the Research Institute’s innovation and incubation ecosystem, incubated projects can access computing resources at the Nansha branch of the National Supercomputing Center in Guangzhou. The Research Institute has supported more than 230 Hong Kong, Macao and overseas research teams with over 280 million core-hours of computing. Its incubation track record includes close to 200 startup projects introduced, with over half from Hong Kong, Macao and international teams; eleven portfolio companies have secured investment, with total funding of nearly RMB 160 million and aggregate valuations exceeding RMB 900 million.

The Centre focuses on strategic sectors including artificial intelligence, microelectronics, intelligent manufacturing, life and health technology, new energy and new materials—helping founders move from prototyping to pilot production and supply-chain validation, and using Hong Kong as a gateway to Guangzhou, Nansha and global markets. The Hong Kong Centre at Science Park 16E commenced operations in 2026 as part of the dual-centre platform.
