We decided to set up an office in Hong Kong as it is one of the best cities in the world to incorporate, where government support is strong, taxes are lower and a deep and diverse talent pool is available.

We have offices in Hong Kong and Singapore, and we look to expand further in the APAC region to support our regional and global clients. For all companies, attracting and retaining the best talent is one of the keys to their success.

With the unpredictable circumstances that we have been facing since last year, it has certainly tested most founders’ resilience and their company’s ability to survive. A startup journey is incredibly challenging at the best of times, so this unprecedented crisis has undoubtedly tested us to the limits. I believe that the most important qualities to our success are the founding team’s resilience, in addition to unwavering vision and hustle.

My advice to startups in Hong Kong is to get familiar with the government funding schemes available here and start preparing for them as soon as possible since the application procedures can take time. The government of Hong Kong provides a lot of support for startups so it is worth looking into different programmes available. It is very easy to set up a company in Hong Kong, and there are plenty of good resources available out there to help you navigate the process. Plus, you can always reach out to InvestHK for advice.

InvestHK has helped us immensely by promoting our company and providing us with many valuable resources and connections. They have always been very willing to support us, whether it is getting on a call with us or sharing advice from company set up to providing business sector information and networking opportunities.
