Recycling Fund (RF)
Objective: To promote the recovery and recycling of waste by facilitating the upgrading of the operational capabilities and efficiency of the recycling industry for sustainable development in order to achieve the policy objectives of waste reduction.
Funding Details: The Recycling Fund comprises two parts, namely the Enterprise Support Programme (ESP) and Industry Support Programme (ISP). The former provides funding support for individual Hong Kong enterprises to upgrade and expand their waste recycling operations in Hong Kong. The latter provides funding support for non-profit distributing organisations (NPOs), such as professional bodies, trade and industry organisations, research institutes and other industrial support organisations registered in Hong Kong to undertake non-profit making projects which can assist the local recycling industry in general or in specific sectors in enhancing their operational standards and productivity.
Eligibility:
Enterprise Support Programme
- Any enterprise duly established, incorporated and registered under the laws of Hong Kong or its place of incorporation with a valid business registration certificate issued under the Business Registration Ordinance (Cap. 310) for carrying on a business in Hong Kong. Applicant should have been involved in recycling related operation with a proven track record for at least 1 year before submitting an application to the Recycling Fund.
- Bodies and organisations with close connection to the recycling industry including property management companies and owners’ corporations registered under the Building Management Ordinance (Cap. 344).
Industry Support Programme
- Non-profit-distributing organisations operating as support organisations, trade and industrial organisations, professional bodies or research institutes, which shall either be statutory organisations or organisations registered under the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
