Deep-Tech Lab Business Executives Program is now open for applications.
This hybrid training program is designed to equip the next generation of entrepreneurial business executives with the practical knowledge and network to lead deep tech start-ups from idea to execution. By combining academic theory with real-world case studies and mentorship, DTL aims to support Hong Kong’s innovation pipeline with capable leadership talent.
Key dates of the Program and WHO should join:
• Scientists Track: 5*, 12, 19 July 2025
The sessions in scientists track will explore how to bridge the gap between research and startups, providing practical insights on turning innovative ideas into viable businesses. By deepening your understanding of commercialization pathways, you’ll be better equipped to bring your research to market.
Who should join: We encourage more lectures and discussions to help scientists—whether teaching staff or graduate students— gain a stronger academic background in commercialization.
• Business Leaders Track: 2*, 9, 16 August 2025
The curriculum will focus on real-world leadership challenges, strategic decision-making, and operational execution—ensuring they gain the skills needed to drive the startup’s success. In class mentorship and peer discussions will further refine their expertise through active engagement and iterative learning.
Who should join: For venture selected CEO/Business Development (BD) candidates with business background, we provide a tailored training program combining structured coursework, hands-on practice, and interactive feedback sessions.
Joint In-Person Wrap-Up Day for both tracks: 23 August 2025*

Why does it matter?
To truly scale the impact of deep tech ventures, we need strong operator-founder teams. This training program is part of a broader effort to prepare capable business executives and match them with ventures early, increasing the success rate of research commercialisation and attracting long-term support from both government and investors.
