The Nabat TerraPod Challenge is an open call from Nabat, in partnership with ASPIRE (Abu Dhabi), seeking a scalable, low-cost seed-carrier that can accommodate UAE native seeds of varying sizes and can be deployed by drone to restore vegetation across the UAE’s desert and arid landscapes. US$50,000 for the winning solution.
Nabat combines ecological science, AI and autonomous systems to restore nature at scale. The right seed carrier is an important part of that process.
Who should apply:
• Companies in materials science, biochar production, seed coating/encapsulation, and UAV-based reforestation/agritech
• Teams with evidence behind their approach – from early lab results through to full field deployment
• Organisations able to deliver a realistic cost model, whether at prototype stage with a credible plan, or further along
Why this is different:
• Deliverable is an evidence-backed technical proposal, not a concept pitch
• Selected solutions go to live UAV field validation in UAE desert sites (targeted Jan-Feb 2027)
• US$50,000 paid to the winner
